shipments of fresh salmon under controlled atmosphere
for TransFRESH Corporation, where he was Director of
Process Applications and Development for that international
provider of controlled atmosphere services.
Wolfe entered the California fresh fruit
and vegetable sector in the late 70’s and pioneered
in developing value-added packaging applications for
fresh-cut vegetables in the U.S. The company he founded
and headed on behalf of Fresh International is still
a market leader in value-added consumer fresh-cut fruit
and vegetable products.
He directed operations, warehousing and finance
as a principal of Fresh Western Marketing in the 80’s,
a firm that achieved explosive growth in the marketing
of fresh fruits and vegetables by basing its business
on the key principles of temperature management and
customer service.
Wolfe earned a Ph.D. in Chemistry at the
University of California at Davis, and added an Executive
MBA at a later date. Since 1990 he has been active in
venture development and contracted management for several
companies involved in various aspects of agriculture,
including post-harvest and food processing machinery
manufacturing and the production and international marketing
of packaged consumer fruit products to retail and club
stores.
In 1999-2001 Wolfe co-developed the business
plan and served as Executive VP in the reformation of
Creative Food Co. (Shanghai), Ltd., the major supplier
of fresh vegetables to Pizza Hut and KFC’s 1,400 units
in China. His responsibilities included supply chain
management and processing operations.
The difficulties he encountered in supply
logistics at Creative for perishable fresh vegetables
inspired his return to China in 2003. And in 2004 he
formed AllFresh Technologies Ltd. (Hong Kong). That
company now has two wholly owned subsidiaries bringing
post-harvest systems and equipment to China’s agricultural
sector: AllFresh Manufacturing Co. (Kunshan), Ltd. and
AllFresh Consulting Co. (Shanghai), Ltd.
